Campaigns, strategies, and the AI filter

Campaigns
A campaign is one audience you want to reach: one strategy, one set of search rules and subreddits, one filter, and a choice of which connected account to reply from. Most people start with a single campaign for their product. You add more when you have genuinely different audiences, for example a second product, or a personal brand next to a company account.
When you start a lightning round you pick which campaign to run, so each session stays focused. Campaigns live in Settings, where you can rename them, edit any part of their setup, or create a new one.
The strategy document
Each campaign has a strategy document per platform: a short brief describing what conversations to look for, what to avoid, and how you want to engage. Pounce writes the first version during setup from your answers, and every part of discovery and filtering flows from it. It is plain text and yours to edit, and editing it is often the highest-leverage tune-up you can make.
Search rules and subreddits
Discovery works differently per platform:
- On X, a handful of search rules (typically three to five) define what Pounce scans for. Good rules are specific enough to avoid noise but broad enough to actually match live conversation. Pounce checks each rule’s real-world volume when you create it and warns if a rule is too quiet or too noisy
- On Reddit, you pick the subreddits to monitor. Pounce watches new posts in those communities as they appear
The AI filter
Search rules cast the net; the filter decides what is worth your time. Every candidate post is read and scored by AI against your filter instructions, and only strong matches reach your inbox, each with its score attached. The filter is also a document you can edit: tell it what a dream post looks like, and what to reject even when the keywords match.
Passing on posts in your inbox feeds back into this too, so the filter sharpens with use. See working your inbox.
Tuning with Refine
Rather than editing documents by hand, the Refine section in the app walks you through guided tune-ups: tightening your strategy, fixing noisy search rules, adjusting the filter, or reshaping your writing style. Tell it what is wrong with what you have been seeing (“too many job posts”, “too much crypto”) and it rewrites the relevant pieces for you, with your approval before anything changes.
