Tweet Ideas and your posting queue

The idea

The sharpest thing you write in a week is usually buried in a reply, seen by the handful of people who scrolled far enough. Tweet Ideas digs those out. After a session, Pounce reads the replies you sent, finds the ones with a point worth making on their own, and rewrites them as standalone posts.

They are your observations, in your words. Pounce is editing, not inventing.

Where ideas come from

Finish a session and Pounce starts distilling in the background. The session summary shows the progress, then a link to your new ideas when they are ready.

A few things worth knowing:

• It needs about a dozen replies to work with. Below that there is not enough material, and Pounce tells you how many more you need.
• Only X replies count. Reddit comments do not become Tweet Ideas.
• You can also press Generate on the Tweet Ideas page whenever you want a fresh batch.
• Ideas you never use expire from the library after two weeks. Anything you have queued stays put.

Editing before you commit

Open any idea to edit it. Rewrite it by hand, ask Pounce to rephrase it, or give it a note about what to fix and let it try again. Your changes save as you type, and the version that eventually posts is whatever you last left in the box.

If an idea is not for you, archive it and it leaves the library.

The queue

Approving an idea means adding it to your queue. From there Pounce posts it for you, so you never have to remember to.

Each queued card tells you when it is going out, in plain language: posts today at 5pm, posts tomorrow at 9am, posts Friday at 5pm. Drag cards in the Up next list to change the order. Remove anything and it will not be posted.

Once something has gone out it moves to the Posted section with a by Pounce badge, so you can always see what has been published on your behalf. If a post fails, for example because your X connection needs renewing, it is marked as not sent and Pounce tells you why.

When posts go out

Your posting schedule lives in Settings, then Posting. Two things to set:

• Posts per day. How many queued ideas can go out in a day. Three by default, up to ten.
• Posting hours. The window they are allowed to land in. Nine in the morning to five in the afternoon by default.

Pounce spreads the day’s posts evenly across that window and picks a slightly different minute each time, so your timeline does not read like a machine posting on the hour.

If your followers are in a different timezone from you, set an audience timezone on the same page and your posting hours will follow theirs instead of yours.

What the queue changes, and what it does not

Approval never leaves you. What the queue changes is timing: you approve a post now and it goes out later, which means it can be published while you are away from your computer. That is the point of a queue, and it is still text you read and approved word for word.

Scheduled posting is included on every paid plan. On the free plan you can still generate ideas, edit them, queue them, and set your schedule, and your queue starts going out as soon as you upgrade.
